Day 3. Annecy to Saint-Marie-de-Cuines. Started out very nice from Annecy along the lake. A very nice bike route. A former railway line has been converted into a bike lane. And more than half the time where there was a road crossing, it was the cars that had full stop. There was even a tunnel, so I felt almost at home. It didn’t have any leaky feeder cables in it though. The bike lane went on for 25 km. This bike road was really nice. And then I turned off and went up the Col du Tamié. It was a nice, not so difficult, good appetizer for the entrée tomorrow. And with an incline of 2-4%, mostly in the shade, very nice. A rather quick descent towards Tournon, and then into the valley of Maurienne where it started getting a bit hot. And I stopped for a small lunch at a restaurant, not recommendable. I came like 1 past 1, and the kitchen closed at 1, so I could only get cold stuff. Not a very nice customer experience. Even one of the other guests complained to the waiter. But at least I got a lot to drink, and I got something to eat. And then I went on in the heat, and it was very, very hot again. And finally, at 4, I arrived in Saint-Marie-de-Cuines, where I went to a tabac, where I literally sat outside the tabac and drank water and juice for one hour. And then I went to the hotel, and managed to get in like 20 minutes later. Had a nice evening meal, lasagne.
